Our Culture

With more than 35 years in business, Team Construction has seen tremendous innovations in building practices. While the technologies and construction methods we use to build may have changed with the times, our values have remained steadfast. Whether it’s a residential home or a commercial project, Team is committed to building long-lasting relationships and providing value and creative solutions in realizing your vision.

While the principles of the Team Construction Way originated with our founding in 1981, our building methods continue to evolve as we take advantage of new and emerging technologies. We are always on the lookout for new tools that will enhance our efficiency and result in further value for our clients. Whether this means Building Information Models (BIMs) or integrated cloud-based building and management technology, keeping up with state-of-the-art solutions is a crucial component to our success as builders.

From the time we opened our doors, Team Construction Management has made sustainable building efforts an important part of our business model. After all, this is our community and we care about the impact of what we do on our neighbours and our environment.

As a result, we go beyond the sustainable construction model to improve operations in any way we can. This means employing a thorough evaluation of each project to see if we can enhance sustainable building practices with alternative structural methods, low-carbon strategies, or net zero energy solutions.

Sustainable building practices require education, but also resources and support. Because of this, we make every effort to empower our team with ways to optimize our building systems. Being involved in each stage of the project life cycle – before, during and after construction – continues to enrich our building envelope expertise and allows us to pass this knowledge onto those who matter most – our clients.

Team Construction Management employs a rigorous quality management program to ensure that our staff, design and trades’ partners all possess high standards of quality. This commitment to quality is deeply embedded in our culture and has served us well over the years.

Not only does our quality leadership promote a culture that fosters clear communication and effective problem solving, it leads to stronger builder-client relationships.

Each year Team Construction completes more than 50,000 hours on building projects. To state the obvious – that’s a lot of hours. But none of this would be possible without a deep commitment to providing our team members with the most superior equipment and training.

Team Construction maintains one of the lowest incident rates and lost-time frequency rates in the industry. This is something we are very proud of. We regularly employ industry experts to provide positive coaching to our team. This approach has been instrumental in educating our building staff and management on how to correct unsafe behaviour, as well as avoid and eliminate hazards and dangerous conditions on site.

Team initiates annual COR Safety audits to ensure industry safety standards are not only being met but exceeded. In addition, S2web Corporate safety software provides safety reports and improves accuracy by providing safety statistics and trends in real-time.
